MatRx (pronounced as Matrix) is an AI-based healthcare solution suite with the vision "To err is human, to be precise is AI".
The Mission of MatRx
In 1999 Institute of Medicine (IoM) in the USA estimated that 98,000 people die each year from medical errors (diagnostic and treatment) in US hospitals (adjusted to a population today that is 115,000 fatalities each year in the USA alone). In addition, the IoM estimates that at least 1.5 million preventable Adverse Drug Events (ADEs) occur each year in the USA. These events can lead to prolonged hospital stays, increased healthcare costs, and poorer patient outcomes. Another recently published study revealed that approximately 12 million US adults every year suffer due to outpatient diagnostic errors. The study also estimates that about half of these errors could potentially be harmful. MatRx aims to reduce such human errors to zero.
Overview
MatRx automates hospital systems to enhance patient care and improve operational efficiency by integrating various artificial intelligence technologies across multiple aspects of hospital management. This comprehensive solution automates patient electronic health records while providing advanced diagnostic tools, treatment planning, and decision support for healthcare professionals. MatRX optimizes medication management and enables remote patient monitoring and telemedicine. Furthermore, it offers real-time analytics and reporting ensuring data-driven decision-making and financial efficiency. By addressing human and doctor errors in medicine prescription and diagnosis, the MatRx AI automation system ultimately enhances patient safety, minimises adverse events, and improves overall hospital performance.
MatRx is our cutting-edge AI-driven medical solution designed to revolutionise healthcare delivery by automating and enhancing various aspects of diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient sentiment analysis. These AI tools have been implemented at numerous hospitals and research centres including Westmead Hospital, Children's Hospital, UNSW Optometry Clinic and CMRI, Sydney, Australia.
MatRx comprises three state-of-the-art product lines: MatDiagnostic, MatCure, and MatSentiment.
MatDiagnostic
An AI-powered diagnostic suite that leverages advanced machine learning algorithms to automatically identify, localise, and analyse diseases using a wide range of input data. By processing X-ray, CT, MRI, and histopathological images, as well as blood tests and other diagnostic data, MatDiagnostic delivers accurate and timely diagnoses. Our disease-specific AI products (e.g. MatCancer, MatVision, MatHeart) are fine-tuned to provide specialised diagnostic insights, ensuring the highest level of precision and reliability.
(a) MatCancer diagnosis of all types of cancer.
(b) MatVision diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy and other eye diseases.
(c) MatHeart diagnoses the presence of heart disease and the probability of heart failure.
MatCure
An AI-driven treatment planning system that generates personalised and evidence-based therapy recommendations for every patient. By analysing a vast array of clinical data, medical literature, and treatment guidelines, MatCure ensures that healthcare providers make well-informed decisions and deliver optimal care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
MatSentiment
This suite has two products as below:
(a) MatMentalHealth is an AI-powered virtual therapist that engages patients in conversational assessments to evaluate their mental health and triage other diagnostic concerns. By analysing patient responses and sentiments, MatSentiment can identify potential mental health issues, provide immediate support, and alert medical professionals as necessary.
(b) MatPublicSentiments is designed for policymakers which monitors social media platforms such as Twitter (X.com) for public sentiment related to healthcare services, enabling ministries, drug companies and hospitals to address concerns proactively and enhance patient satisfaction. For example, during the Covid pandemic, we advised governments about the low confidence in the covid vaccine which triggered them to establish budgets for patient education.
At FAAA, we are leveraging the transformative power of AI by developing novel AI solutions to revolutionise three of the most critical sectors - healthcare, finance and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) commonly known as drones.
